Youth School Holidays | Make a MIDI Controller (Ages 13-17)
About this event
Do you love making music? Electronics? Soldering? Build your own MIDI controller and add real dials and buttons to your favourite digital synths and sounds. Learn the skills and basic ideas behind creating your own interfaces and hardware for music creation, and bridge the gap between the real and digital world. This workshop will introduce you to MIDI - the world's most common format for interfacing with music programs - as you solder and build your very own MIDI controller for use with your favourite music apps. Walk away with your very first piece of home-made music gear, and the skills to make more of it! Start making music and music hardware! Learn how to solder electronics, how to upload code to your controller, and test it out on one of our iPads.
